Made In Cookware’s Champagne Saber Will Have You Quoting Period Pieces and Feeling Confident

We have been getting into celebrating all of our wins - big and small - at La Pitchoune, especially in the last couple of years. We hope you have as well, since it can be difficult to recognize the positives and celebrate the good when you’re going through it. (And who isn’t going through it right now?) Luckily, we’ve found a really exciting way to celebrate our wins.

Champagne saber.

You read that right. Sabers aren’t just for King Arthur, noble knights, and other European dignitaries. Sabers are for everyday people who just want to celebrate with a good bottle of champagne.

Sure, the tradition may have come from a less noble place in history. Legend tells us that Napoleon Bonaparte and his cavalry originated the practice in history by popping champagne bottles open with their swords. (And I can’t imagine it was to celebrate a day of no bloodshed.) However, have you ever been at an event where a sword was used in tandem with champagne and not been impressed?

Scratch that. Have you ever been anywhere with a sword and not been impressed?

I didn’t think so.

Made In Cookware did us really well and released a new Champagne Saber, crafted specifically to toast to the good in this world. The handle is ebony wood, and it’s gorgeous. I don’t know that there is a kitchen utensil that will ever make you feel as badass as you do brandishing this dull, confident beauty. (They make it dull so that when you inevitably decide to pose with the utensil, less dangerous events will result.) In fact, this saber made us realize what exactly William Turner was going on about when he said, “the tang is nearly the full width of the blade” in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

No, really. Look at the specs. It’s a perfectly balanced sword, and you can feel it when you pick it up.
