Our terms and conditions have been the same since our inception in 2015. From time to time we update our verbiage based on questions we’ve received.
Updated Terms and Conditions as of January 1st, 2023:

  1. Because of our small size, and the nature of our bookings being so far out in advance any cancellations or date changes affect us, our partners, and our other guests… significantly. Any cancellation or date change affords us little to no chance of rebooking. As such, we do not allow any cancellations or refunds, under any circumstances. However, you are welcome to send someone in your place. If you need to reschedule, you can do so up to 90 days before arrival. Reschedules after that time are subject to a $1000 reschedule fee.

Being that we’re an international destination, with a primarily international clientele it’s important to note that travel restrictions are always a possibility.

In the event that we have to cancel your reservation due to any circumstance, we will reschedule to a new date at your earliest convenience. Fees cannot be refunded for any reason, including if classes or reservations are missed due to illness, travel issues, government mandated travel bans, acts of God, etc.

We’ll repeat this one more time. No refunds are ever offered, under any circumstances, for any reasons.

If this risk gives you pause, La Peetch and the Courageous Cooking School highly recommends that you purchase trip insurance from your travel advisor or your insurance provider.

  2. The Courageous Cooking school and La Peetch shall be under no liability whatsoever, for any loss, injury or damage to students or their property, whether in respect of any neglect, act or omission by the school, its agents or employees. Basically? You are responsible for your own well-being, and we cannot be held liable for injuries or death due to your activities on the property.

  3. If a student or guest is considered by the Courageous Cooking School to be a danger to themselves or our staff, the student may be required to leave, either immediately or within a specified time at the discretion of the staff of the Courageous Cooking School, and will not receive a refund (we’ve never had to do this).

  4. All are welcome to La Peetch and the Courageous Cooking School, and we will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, national origin, genetic information, or any other characteristic.

  5. Unless otherwise stated, all Courageous Cooking School Classes are available only to people of 16 years or older. It may be possible to accommodate younger students with prior approval from the school, but this is only on a case by case basis. Please inquire before booking.

  6. The Courageous Cooking School and La Peetch reserve the right, under unavoidable circumstances, to alter the timing or content of any course or of the curriculum and to substitute any teacher or instructor or to cancel a course at any time without refund. If this occurs, we will reschedule you as soon as possible.

  7. All itineraries are just possibilities, and represent the current way we are approaching the trip. Things may change. We make every effort to provide this exact experience, but the nature of the beast–visiting things that aren't typical tourist destinations– might mean we have to change plans. Even last minute. You can always opt-out of an outing, nothing is required. But we don't provide refunds if you miss meals, events, excursions, etc. due to personal choice or other circumstances.
